Frequently Asked Questions

Telepsychiatry also known as telehealth is a virtual visit with your psychiatric provider, in today’s modernized world patients express busy schedules. As a solution, telepshychiatry helps with convenience and flexibility. There is no need of driving to an office and waiting, instead visits can take place in the comfort of your home or place of your choosing. All that is required is connectivity and a device with voice and camera capabilities.

What should I do in Emergency Situations?

For mental health crisis or medical emergencies please don’t wait, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For the crisis line, you can text HOME to 741-741 or call the National Suicide Lifeline at 1 800 273 TALK for immediate help 24/7.

What is the cancellation Policy?

Next Level Psychiatry has instituted an Appointment Cancellation Policy. A cancellation made with less than a 24-hour notice after scheduling new patient visits significantly limits our ability to make the appointment available for another patient in need. We require also 48 hours in advance notice of follow-up appointment cancellation, not doing so may result in additional charges not billable to insurance companies.

What insurance is accepted?

Insurances include Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar Health, Oxford, Medicare, Self-Pay and Curative.

How do I address any concerns with billing?

Next Level Psychiatry uses a third party company known as Headway to allow in network care. Headway requires an account and consents for billing. Any question regarding insurance verification and billing processes please email Hello@Headway.co

Does Next Level Psychiatry accept Employee Assistance Programs?

Unfortunately, not at this time.

What should you expect with the initial assessment?

With the initial appointment, it is important to have a comprehensive assessment to guide the treatment approaches. Please be prepared to discuss symptoms, triggers, and history. Common information to provide is a form of identification, medications, lab results, and hospitalization records, if applicable.

Are discussions confidential?

Next Level Psychiatry is HIPPA compliant, and discussions with the providers are confidential, with the exceptions of any disclosed information regarding your safety or the safety of others.

What age group do Next Level Psychiatry treat?

Next Level Psychiatry providers treat 13 years of age and older.

What is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner?

A psychiatric nurse practitioner has a master’s degree that prepares post-baccalaureate registered nurses to provide high-quality psychiatric and mental health care for patients across the lifespan in a variety of settings. Our providers are board-certified by the Texas Board of Nursing, have prescriptive authority, and are required by state law to have a supervising physician.

What disorders do you treat?

Next Level Psychiatry providers treat but are not limited to Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Psychosis, Behavioral issues and Sleep disorders.

Does Next Level Psychiatry treat ADHD?

Unfortunately we cannot.
We announce our inability to continue the prescription of controlled substances such as benzodiazepines (i.e. Klonopin, Xanax, Valium, etc.), hypnotics (i.e. Ambien, Lunesta, Restoril, etc.) or stimulants (i.e. Vyvanse, Ritalin, Adderall, etc.). We understand the necessity for such treatment choices, however, this decision is based on recent DEA-initiated rules which prohibit the prescription of controlled substances through telehealth practices.

Does Next Level Psychiatry use controlled substances?

As a practice we have policies in place for the utilization of Benzodiazepines. We understand that research show caution with these class of medication leading to our limited use.
